[Meeting Intellectuals in the Spring Hills] Review|Join Jocelyn Chan on an audio therapy journey
Have you heard of art healing?
Art healing aims to use various art forms such as music, dance, and painting for psychological treatment, helping people to express emotions, relieve stress, and improve their mental well-being.
University Art Centre will plan a series of activities related to art healing on campus starting from this year.
On April 13th, the guest of the 30th Lecture of Meeting Intellectuals in the Spring Hills Lecture Series—Jocelyn Chan, a post-90s Chinese songwriter-singer, created a space for art healing and started a special journey of healing through audio.

【Review of the Lecture】

What is sound healing? Before starting the experience, Jocelyn first introduced the process of sound healing. Based on the recent condition and emotions of the visitor, as well as their purposes, the therapist will design a personalized audio healing programme to create a suitable resonance between the visitors’ feelings and their body vibrations.

"Sound of Silence", although it sounds contradictory, the power of sound is actually very strong, strong enough to make oneself calm down and listen to one's inner voice. Jocelyn believes that "the concept of sound healing is actually quite similar to that of traditional Chinese medicine. Both aim to solve the problems that people encounter in their mental and physical states."

During the lecture, Jocelyn shared three self-healing tips with everyone:
1. Patting one's chest slowly for 20 times to create a steady rhythm for oneself.
2. Breathing slowly in and out in groups of eight beats.
3. Using the sounds of the five vowels "a, e, i, o, u" to relieve tension and anxiety.

At the end, Jocelyn customized an exclusive sound healing journey for the students present, leading everyone to experience the charm of music healing the soul.
