About the Performance
As Shenzhen's first original opera, the creation of "Pioneers" revolves around the significant policy of building a pilot area to demonstrate socialism with Chinese characteristics and the theme "The 21st century is the century of the ocean". It portrays the new generation of pioneers in the Greater Bay Area and tells the inspirational story of a group of Shenzhen youth with distinct characteristics of the new era who seize opportunities, explore, and innovate, and dare to be the first. The opera's production team includes top national-level creators, with renowned director and theater educator Dingshan HUANG as the chief director, famous planner, lyricist, and poet Hai ZHU as the screenwriter, and famous composer and music producer Lao Zai as the composer.
